Scan a page using its source code

Some websites prevent automated scanners from reading their pages. You can still let ObservOwl inspect the page by copying its source code and pasting it below.

How to copy a public page

  1. 1Open the webpage on a desktop or laptop.
  2. 2Press Ctrl + U, or right-click and choose View page source.
  3. 3Press Ctrl + A, then Ctrl + C.
  4. 4Return here, paste the code, and start the scan.

Copying page source is easiest on a computer. Many mobile browsers do not provide a clear source-view option.

Privacy and safety

Only paste code from public pages you are comfortable sharing. Do not paste source from banking, medical, email, account, checkout, or other private pages. Page source can contain hidden identifiers or form values.

ObservOwl treats the submission as text. It does not execute scripts, render the page, or permanently store the pasted HTML.

This helps ObservOwl understand relative links and favicon paths. The page is not fetched during this scan.

Paste the complete source, or upload an .html file.
